Visit to Turkey by the North Atlantic Council to mark the 25th anniversary of the Mediterranean Dialogue (6-7 May 2019) [fr]

The North Atlantic Council, chaired by NATO Secretary General M. Jens Stoltenberg, visited Turkey on 6 and 7 May 2019 in the context of the 25th anniversary of the Mediterranean Dialogue.

The North Atlantic Council met with the Mediterranean Dialogue countries’ representatives. Together, they discussed the 25 years of the partnership and looked at new ways to enhance the partnership.

NATO Secretary General also met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to discuss the security situation in the region.

NATO’s Mediterranean Dialogue was initiated in 1994 by the North Atlantic Council. It currently involves seven non-NATO countries of the Mediterranean region: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia.
It aims to contribute to regional security and stability and achieve better mutual understanding
